Cookie policy
Everything this website stores in your browser, what each item does, and how to turn it off.
Last updated:
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website asks your browser to keep, so it can remember something from one page or visit to the next. Browsers can also keep similar notes in what is called session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. This page covers both.
2. What this site stores
This is the full list:
_ga- A Google Analytics cookie. It tells one browser's visits apart from another's, using a randomly generated number rather than your name or email address.
_ga_followed by a code- A second Google Analytics cookie. It keeps track of your current visit.
PHPSESSID- Set by our website only when you send the contact form. It lets the form ask you to wait a minute before sending another message, which prevents accidental double sends and spam.
capAnnounceDismissed- Remembers that you closed the announcement bar at the top of the page, so it stays closed while you browse.
cap_analytics- A testing switch our web team uses to check the analytics setup. It is only set when a page is opened with
?cap_analytics=debugadded to its address, so visitors do not normally have it.
The site does not save a display or theme preference. If an earlier preview version of the site left one in your browser (cap-variant or cap-theme), the site deletes it.
The two Google Analytics cookies are set only on our live website, capitalartsproductions.com. Our privacy policy explains what Google Analytics records.
3. Services that load with our pages
Some files on our pages come from other companies: our films, audio samples and many images from Bunny.net, the typeface from Google Fonts, and some code and icons from cdnjs and unpkg. To fetch those files, your browser shares your IP address and basic browser details with them.
When we checked on September 24, 2026, none of these services set cookies. When a film plays, the Bunny.net video player saves two small settings in its own storage in your browser, where they stay until you clear your site data: a copy of its icon set and your video quality choice. They can change how they work, and their own privacy policies apply.
The links to our social media profiles, and the share buttons on posts in The Cut, are ordinary links. Those sites can set their own cookies only once you click through to them.
4. What we do not do
- We do not use advertising, remarketing or social media tracking cookies.
- We do not sell information collected through cookies.
- We do not use cookies to find out who you are. If you contact us, that is information you choose to send, and our privacy policy covers it.
If we ever add advertising tools, we will update this page before they go live.
5. How to control cookies
This site does not show a cookie banner. You can control cookies and site data in your browser instead:
- To block or delete cookies, open your browser's settings and look for Privacy, or Cookies and site data. You can clear the data for this site alone or for every site.
- To turn off Google Analytics on every website you visit, install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- A private or incognito window deletes its cookies and session storage when you close it.
If you block cookies, the contact form still sends.
6. Changes to this policy
If what the site stores changes, we will update this page. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
