1. Our commitment

We want this website to work for everyone who visits it, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen magnification, captions or other assistive technology.

If anything on the site makes that harder, we want to know, and we will work to fix it.

2. The standard we work toward

We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This site has not had an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim that it fully meets that standard. This statement describes where it stands today.

3. What is in place

  • Keyboard access. The menus and FAQ sections work with a keyboard. The Escape key closes the menus and the photo and film viewer, and the arrow keys move between items in the viewer. While the mobile menu is open, keyboard focus stays inside it.
  • Screen reader support. Pages use standard headings, lists, links and buttons. Menus and FAQ answers announce whether they are open or closed, and contact form error messages are read out.
  • Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, most of the site's scroll animations are switched off or simplified, and content stays in place and fully visible.
  • Text descriptions. Most images have a short text description for screen readers.
  • Readable text. Main text is set in high-contrast colours on a dark background, and pages adjust to fit phones, tablets and large screens.
  • Labelled forms. Every contact form field has a visible label, and required and optional fields are marked.

4. Known limitations

We would rather tell you about these than have you find them:

  • Captions. Our films and audio samples do not have captions or transcripts yet. If you need to know what is said in one of them, contact us and we will help, for example with a written summary.
  • Background video. Some pages play short, silent video loops in the background. They carry no information you need, but they start on their own and most do not have a pause button.
  • The video player. Films play in a player provided by Bunny.net. Its controls and keyboard behaviour are outside our direct control.
  • Contrast of small labels. Some small labels and captions use a soft grey that is below the contrast level we aim for.
  • No skip link. There is no "skip to main content" link yet, so keyboard users pass through the site menu before reaching the page content.
  • Image descriptions. A small number of images do not have a text description yet.

5. Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us. It helps to know which page you were on, what you were trying to do and the device, browser or assistive technology you use, but a short message is fine too.

You can also send us a message from our contact page.

We will reply as soon as we can. If we cannot fix a problem quickly, we will help you get the information another way, such as by email or over the phone.

6. Changes to this statement

We update this statement as the site changes, and we remove items from the list of known limitations as we fix them. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
